I was born a car enthusiast and have always been interested in cars since I was very little. My first memories of picking up sales literature was some 1958 Chevrolet pieces when I was four or five, but I am told I started even earlier.



When I saw my neighbor’s 58 Bonneville promo and it was like an epiphany. I loved the factory colors and two-toning and the accuracy. That started me in collecting promos, although my dad got rid of all of my promos while in college.



Just like literature, promos are a piece of automotive history. They were created to help sell the then-new real cars. I have one example of nearly every promo made since WWII.



I purchased a very large collection of literature from a friend recently that started collecting in 1942 (it contains a lot of earlier pieces too). He was from New York and got to visit nearly every make including foreign makes that made their way to the US.


I have a few pieces of nearly every car manufactured anywhere in the world now.
